Sacred architecture by Pierre Pinsard

Pierre PINSARD (1906 – 1988) was an architect considered one of the most important contributors to the post-World War II revival of sacred art.

He came to architecture through painting and graphic design, but above all through his
encounter with André Lurçat, a leading figure in 20th-century architecture.
His work has left its mark on contemporary French architecture.
Known for designing the Dominican Convent in Lille, the Vatican Pavilion at the
1958 Brussels World’s Fair, and his participation
in the design and construction of the immense underground basilica in
Lourdes, he left masterpieces of modern architecture in Antony,
with the Saint-Jean Porte Latine church, and in Nantes, with the Saint Luc parish centre.

Active throughout France, this architect endowed the Ain region with
major achievements that have become emblematic of its 20th-century heritage.
