CAUE Var
Established under the Architecture Act of 3 January 1977 and founded on the initiative of the Var Departmental Council in 1984, the CAUE Var (Council for Architecture, Urban Planning and the Environment) is an association entrusted with a public interest mission. Its aim is to promote quality in architecture, urban planning and the environment within the department.
As part of its efforts to raise public awareness of ‘the creation of our living environment’, the CAUE Var launched an innovative digital outreach initiative in 2017. In partnership with the cultural innovation agency 9b+, it spearheaded the creation of the Archistoire app, designed as a tool to explore regions through immersive virtual tours.
Wishing to embed this initiative within a collective dynamic, CAUE Var chose to open the Archistoire platform to all CAUE organisations and their local partners, so that they could host their outreach content relating to the themes championed by the network: architecture, urban planning, the environment and landscapes.
Archistoire thus provides a unique gateway to architecture, heritage and landscapes, accessible to all audiences: tourists, residents, schoolchildren and anyone curious about the region.

La Fédération nationale des CAUE
The National Federation of Councils for Architecture, Urban Planning and the Environment (FNCAUE) brings together and represents the network of CAUE councils at national level. It works to develop and share initiatives that help promote architectural, urban, landscape and environmental culture amongst all sections of the public.
Within the framework of Archistoire, the FNCAUE plays a key role in scaling the initiative up to the national level and facilitating its dissemination within the CAUE network. It promotes the sharing of tools, methods and best practices among CAUEs involved in creating digital outreach programmes.
Thanks to this collective dynamic, Archistoire is now part of a framework of cooperation and resource-sharing among CAUEs, working to promote architecture, landscapes and heritage across all regions.
schoolchildren and those curious about the region.

9b+
9b+ is a cultural innovation agency that supports brands and local areas in creating visitor experiences that combine museum design with interactivity.
Archistoire was launched in 2017 following a collaboration between CAUE Var and 9b+. This unique partnership has enabled the development of an educational solution that combines intuitive design, high-quality content and an immersive visitor experience.
Since the project’s inception, 9b+ has supported the development of Archistoire alongside CAUE Var. The agency can also assist CAUE organisations and their partners in creating visitor itineraries or providing training on the technological solution.

Laquo
LAQUO is a software platform that enables the creation and distribution of immersive, interactive tours on smartphones.
It allows cultural organisations and local authorities to tell the stories of places through 360° panoramas, multimedia content and geolocated narratives.
Developed on the basis of experience gained with Archistoire, for which it forms the technological foundation, LAQUO was born out of a desire to have a simple yet powerful tool for designing and distributing digital mediation tours dedicated to telling the stories of places.
Archistoire is thus the first application powered by LAQUO technology.
LAQUO technology is a winner of the France 2030 call for projects – Digitisation of Architecture and Heritage, which supports innovative solutions aimed at promoting heritage and disseminating knowledge.

Les CAUE partenaires
Since its launch, Archistoire has grown thanks to the commitment of a growing number of CAUE organisations, which help to enrich the platform and showcase the architecture and landscapes of their regions.
Through their editorial committees, outreach teams and local partners, the CAUEs produce scientific and educational content or support local authorities in creating new digital awareness-raising tools.
This collective drive makes Archistoire a collaborative project of the CAUE network, dedicated to helping people discover and understand our regions.
